For those of you who aren't already aware, we've experienced a number of launch issues with 0.6, which we believe are mostly related to problems on the Workshop/Paradox back-end. As such, we're just one of many mods affected.
To try and get the latest version to you in a properly working fashion, we've released it as a manual download, which we recommend temporarily running with Hearts of Iron version 1.5.1 for performance reasons.
How do I know if I'm impacted?
Almost everyone seems to be, but if you want to be sure, launch the Steam Workshop version and check to see if the leader of Yemen is visible. If he isn't, your copy is assuredly broken.
So what do I do?
To download our manual release, simply follow this link, and a few simple steps:
Step 1
Download the file above and move it into your mod folder, located in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/mod. The documents folder will almost always be in your C: drive, and not at the location of your Steam install. If a mod folder is not located inside your Hearts of Iron IV folder for whatever reason, simply create it.
Step 2
Extract the Kaiserreich.zip file you've downloaded into the mod folder using the Windows utility, 7zip, or another similar tool. Then, rename the extracted folder to simply 'Kaiserreich'. This is crucial. At this stage, your mod folder should look something like this:
Ignore any additional files found inside, often prefixed by 'ugc'. These are just Steam workshop files.
Step 3
Open the 'Kaiserreich' folder, and look for a file named 'Kaiserreich.mod'. In Windows, this is often mistaken for a video file, and so it may have a similar thumbnail.
Then, drag this file out and into the mod folder, for a result similar to...
Now Kaiserreich should be ready to go, but make sure to check for it in the launcher, and ensure that your workshop version is deselected.
Step 4 (optional)
In theory you can now play Kaiserreich without the issues of missing content described above, but you may still experience performance problems related to the release of vanilla's 1.5.2 on the same day. Fortunately, rolling back your version to 1.5.1 should solve these.

To do so, simply open Steam, right click on Hearts of Iron IV, and select 'Properties' from the contextual menu. Then navigate to the 'Betas' tab, and look for the horizontal box labeled 'None - Opt out of all beta programs' or containing a version number. Click on it, and select version 1.5.1, and wait for it to download. If it does not do so within a few minutes, try restarting Steam.
With this done, you should be ready to play 0.6 as was intended, and we hope to bring permanent solutions to you in the near future, alongside whatever fixes Steam and Paradox have to offer.
