Manual Fan Control Mac

  • The app is buggy and outdated. Moreover it doesn't have UI. Do yourself a favor and use free 'Macs Fan Control' app (google for it), it supports all apple hardware on Windows and also Mac.

  • Excellent job !!! Good try... I love this app. Bypassed me from many troubles... I had many BSODs (randomly) and I had no idea what was going on... My configuration is a system of an Apple iMac 'Core i5' 2.66 27-Inch (Late 2009), with the following identifiers: Late 2009 - MB953LL/A - iMac11,1. - This is a known toaster sytem... I mostly operating this system under Bootcamp partition, wearing Windows 7, Ultimate - 64bit (many applications under Windows platform). I had NO FANS at all. Take a look at the temperatures I had before running MacFan: (Fan #0 (ODD) was running at 1010 rpm) << after MacFan 3000 (Fan #1 ( HDD) was running at 1095 rpm) !!! << after MacFan 4000 (Fan #2 (CPU) was running at 935 rpm.) !!! << after MacFan 2000 So, I fixed it with this wonderful app. Thanks again to the team of developers.

  • Great stuff.

  • gracias

  • Fast and simple.

The fan is one of the cheapest and most important components of a PC. It keeps the computer or laptop’s hardware temperature at a normal level by removing hot air surrounding the hardware. If the fan stops working for some reasons, the temperature of the MBD, processor or HDD will increase above the normal operating range.

The price of a new MBD and processor starts at $100. A PC fan costs within $5 to $15. If you don’t shut down your PC or replace the fan, the computer hardware will be damaged. Hence, it’s better to get the fan fixed rather than spending $100+ USD.

The speed of the fan in a PC is controlled by the operating system or a chip on the motherboard. If the fan is not working or the circuit that controls it has failed, you should try to fix the problem by yourself by installing and using one of the fan control software we’ve shared below before calling the PC technician.

Note: BIOS program includes several fan speed control options. If you don’t want to use a software, open BIOS and navigate to the fan control settings. Modify the settings as per your requirements.

MFC is a popular MAC and Windows program for monitoring and controlling FAN speed. It also makes users aware of the temperature of various hardware components of their computer.

MFC allows users to modify the RPM value of the fan. If your laptop or PC is making too much noise, you can safely reduce this value. If your laptop gets hot when you’re playing a game, increase the RPM value.

The software allows users to set threshold values. It can control the fan speed automatically by reading sensor data in real-time. When you set a threshold, the fan speed will increase or decrease automatically.

The Macs program has a simple user interface. It is a small application that works like a charm on old and new MacBooks, iMac, and Mac Pro. It also runs on Apple devices running the Windows operating system.

SpeedFan is a lightweight yet powerful software that keeps the hardware components in your PC cool.

When you run it, SpeedFan runs a small task of identifying the computer hardware and sensors. If your PC has the supported hardware, SpeedFan program will get into action else it will display only the CPU clock speed.

SpeedFan enables you to overclock or underclock GPU or processor. You can configure the processor clock speed manually or set frequency scaling conditions for it.

The program allows users to monitor processor, hard disk drive, graphics card usage in real-time. It displays the data in a table so that you can compare the temperature, operating clock speed, and other details of the hardware modules.

SpeedFan reads the HDD’s S.M.A.R.T monitoring system data. It displays HDD or SSD temperature and errors encountered while writing data to the HDD or Solid State Drive.

SpeedFan can generate graphs of hardware temperature, FAN speed, and power usage. It allows users to change colors, language, disable monitoring of specific hardware modules, etc. It enables users to change FAN speed. You can also configure SpeedFan to control the speed of the fan automatically.

This program consumes 6MB system memory and 9MB space on the storage hardware. SpeedFan has a simple GUI. It is easy to use.

Conclusion: If your PC has become noisy or gets hot after few minutes of usage, open the PC cabinet and check whether the fans are working or not. If the fan is working, download and use SpeedFan or MFC software or tweak the BIOS FAN settings.
